OKAS is a human-centric smart home hub that integrates multiple home devices, media services, and environmental controls. Vyom System approached us to create a brand identity and design a product that aligns with the philosophy of connected, seamless home experiences.
OKAS required a cohesive brand identity that reflects its core value—providing a human-centric, connected experience. The visual language had to communicate home automation, media, and integration at its core. We defined a typeface to symbolize connection, with "OK" representing human-centric design, "A" for media, and "S" for integration. The three dots in the logo signify connectivity. We also created an interactive app interface that enhances the user experience, allowing homeowners to seamlessly manage their home devices. The scope included an AI-powered hub, cloud synchronization, and user-based customization. We studied user personas across multiple homes, creating a design system that allowed flexibility and a personal touch.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was designing an interactive system that catered to the diverse needs of different family members while maintaining simplicity in user interaction. The hub needed to function seamlessly for both tech-savvy and non-tech-savvy individuals.
Solutions
We employed Design Thinking methodologies to ensure a user-first approach. By developing an intuitive interface and modular system, we created a solution that allowed control over home environments with ease. The visual identity married technology with warmth, appealing to all demographics.
outcomes
OKAS launched successfully with more than 85 homes using the system. The unique visual identity and user-friendly design led to increased engagement and positive feedback. By 2020, OKAS plans to expand to over 500 users, scaling its reach while maintaining the same personalized experience.
