OKAS is the first human-centric smart home hub, aimed at delivering a connected experience tailored to the unique needs of every user in the household. Vyom Systems partnered with Comdez to create a solution that prioritizes user comfort, ease of use, and technology integration.
Comdez employed Design Thinking to transform OKAS into a smart home solution that could adapt to the varying needs of individual family members. After interviewing 145 users and stakeholders, we designed a hub that could intuitively control media, electronics, and home systems, all while maintaining individual preferences and privacy settings. The challenge was to create a seamless experience for every user, ensuring OKAS understood the context and adapted accordingly. Through a phased process of prototype, MVP, and product releases, OKAS was deployed in ten homes with AI and cloud computing capabilities, with features gradually rolled out for better energy efficiency and control.
Challenge
Creating a smart hub that caters to various age groups and preferences within a family, while integrating AI, cloud computing, and smart home functionalities, required extensive user research and empathy mapping.
outcomes
OKAS is now installed in 85 homes across India, with plans to reach 500 users by 2020. The solution is celebrated for its intuitive design and adaptability, with continuous feedback fueling further enhancements and a growing customer base.
